Things tend to come full circle. As someone who lived through the Y2K era and who has lived to see spaghetti strap vest tops and cargo pants come back into style, re-imagined by Gen Z, I can fully attest to that.
And so I return to blogging.
Back in 2004 everyone had a LiveJournal which then evolved Pokemon style into the era of ‘lifestyle blogs’ in the early 2010s, which in turn led to the vloggers and the influencers. So, why return now?
It feels timely. I sat in a conference room for a few days the other week and all I heard about was Generative AI and what it means for the future in my general line of work. It’ll make work faster, get you further down the line quicker. You can even have it mimic your style (or that of someone else if you prefer).
A return to personal blogging feels like a backlash. A small act of rebellion.
This isn’t a blog for AI content. This is a blog for my life and my thoughts. It might not be glossy or SEO-optimised and it won’t be promoted through any social media. If you find it, welcome. If you like it, please stay and return. If not, then I’ll continue whispering into the void of AI-created content.
hi.
